Funicular Station
Station, Chaumont |
Swiss funicular stations
call to mind warm natural wood interiors, fine craftsmanship, beautiful
architecture and people waiting expectantly for the cable car with
their skis or backpacks. |
| Chaumont's
funicular line starts at the foot of the mountain in the town of Neuchâtel
and makes its steep ascent through forests. The ride is not long.
Less than twenty minutes perhaps, but in those few minutes you leave
the busyness of town behind you and arrive at quiet little community
with great views of the three lake region and a number of activities,
including hiking, mountain biking, cross-country skiing and horseback
riding. A few restaurants offer breakfast, lunch or dinner or just
a drink if you choose. |
