The Hotel-Beau-Rivage,
a beautifully restored historic building, is a place of quiet, calm
and beauty. Only a promenade separates this elegant hotel from Lake
Neuchâtel. The Alps run the length of the horizon. Staff is friendly,
efficient and multilingual. Merely a three minute walk takes you to
historic Neuchâtel.
Just across the street
from the train station, the Alpes et Lac Hotel has the best
panorama of the Alps, lake, and historic town of any hotel in Neuchâtel.
Built in 1872 the hotel's interior was renovated in contemporary style.
Rooms are not big, but they are clean and comfortable. Staff is friendly,
helpful, and multilingual. Ask for my favorite room #107.
The Chaumont & Golf Hotel is a modern hotel on the top of the mountain, Chaumont, behind Neuchâtel. The hotel has a swimming pool, sauna, turkish bath, solarium, piano bar, billiards, and tennis. Golf is 10 minutes away. Nice walks in the forest are minutes from your door.
If you want a quiet, relaxing
place to stay in the country, away from the hustle and bustle of town
and with a good view of Lake Neuchâtel and the distant
alps Hotel
L'Aubier in Montezillion may be the place for you.
Hotel Beaulac is ideally placed beside Neuchâtel's harbor and marina. The Museum of Art and History (Musée d'Art et d'Histoire) is two minutes walk and the historic town center only ten minutes away.
Hotel Touring is at
an excellent location. Ferries just steps away can take you to towns
and villages along the shores of Lake Neuchâtel, Lake
Morat and Lake Bieler. Within a few minutes walk is
the historic town center and various museums.
Vue-des-Alpes Hotel &
Restaurant sits just off the highway between the towns of La
Chaux-de-Fonds and Neuchâtel, in the Jura
mountains of Switzerland. Within a short walking distance
are gentle ski slopes, and trails for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.
In the warm weather months you take off your skis or snowshoes, put
on your hiking books or grab your bike, and hit the same trails for
some hiking or mountain biking. As the name implies, you have a view
of the Alps though they are on the distant horizon, and sometimes
their white peaks blend into the haze as a ghost blends into a fog.
If you wish to get away from
it all, limit your contact with people, traffic, and the hustle and
bustle of everyday life Hotel
la Clef des Champs may be what you are looking for. Located
in the Jura mountains about forty minutes from Neuchâtel
and ten minutes from the La
Vue des Alpes the hotel sits by itself with only the Restaurant
la Tete de Ran to give it company.
Hotel de l'Ecluse
is a charming hotel tucked away off the street named Rue de l'Ecluse.
Located in the center of Neuchâtel, restaurants, cafes, museums,
the port of Lake Neuchâtel , the castle and the cathedral, and
the train station are just minutes walk away. Children under six are
free while children 7-15 get a 50% reduction. The hotel has free wireless
internet access - which is hard to find in Neuchâtel.

You might want to directly
contact the hotels above regarding room availability and rates, and
then check Kayak to the right. Click on the hotel tab, and type in
Neuchâtel, Switzerland. Kayak will will give
you a list of hotels in Neuchâtel and in surrounding towns.
You might find better rates than what the hotels are quoting.
I suggest that you choose a hotel in Neuchâtel or a
town nearby. Neuchâtel is beautiful. Staying in a hotel thirty
kilometers away, and simply visiting Neuchâtel, will
not give you the same unique Neuchâtel experience.
